Update (10/28/25) Panda and Pikachu have been adopted!

   

At just 6-months-old, Panda and Pikachu have already proven that friendship is their greatest power. This bonded pair of kittens has spent over 90 days at the Humane Society of Ventura County, patiently waiting for their chance to find a loving home together. Like a true Pokémon duo, their bond is unbreakable, and their personalities complement one another perfectly.

When you first meet Panda and Pikachu, you might notice their shy, cautious nature. They take a little time to warm up to new people, but once they do, their sweet and affectionate sides begin to shine. These boys love nothing more than curling up together for a nap, grooming one another, and watching the world go by from the comfort of their favorite cat tree. Over time, they’ve grown more confident and playful, showing off the curiosity and charm that make kittens so endearing.

Ricky Bobby is a 2.5-year-old Border Collie mix with a big heart and even bigger ears! At around 70 pounds, this smart, playful boy loves to fetch, play with toys, and show off his basic commands. Like his namesake suggests, this handsome guy has a need for speed. However, what he needs now more than ever is a calm, loving place to call home.

Our sweet girl, Bullseye, has come a long way on her journey, and we’re thrilled to share that she is now ready to find her forever home! This lovable 6-month-old Boxer mix pup came to us as a stray in early July of this year. Though we don’t know much about her past, what we’ve learned since she arrived 80 days ago speaks volumes about her strength, charm, and affectionate spirit. Some things are just better in pairs, and that’s certainly true for Ruby & Rosie! These 4-month-old kittens are a bonded duo who have grown up side by side and are now ready to find their forever family. Ruby & Rosie came to HSVC as strays when they were just tiny fur babies. To give them the best chance at thriving, they were placed in foster care, where they were nurtured and cared for until they were old enough to begin their journey to adoption. Their start in foster care gave them the love and safety they needed to blossom, and now it’s time for the next chapter of their story.

This 10-month-old Mastiff and Pit Bull Terrier mix may be the last of his litter still waiting for a home, but he hasn’t lost his gentle spirit or big, loving heart. At first glance, Lunar seems like the quiet type, but give him a little time and you’ll discover a playful, affectionate pup who’s just saving all that love for the right family. Lunar has a tender, cuddly side that shines once he trusts you. He’ll lean in close for affection, offer gentle hugs, and happily curl up by your side. Around other dogs, he absolutely thrives! Our staff believes that having a confident canine companion nearby will help Lunar feel brave and blossom into the best pup he can be.

This 4-year-old Border Collie mix came to us from Woods Humane Society, and he’s been reminding us every day just how fun life can be when you’ve got the right buddy by your side. Wilson is the kind of dog who lights up at the sight of water, whether it’s a splash in a pool, a romp with the hose, or the dream of a beach day. He’s happiest when he’s wet and wagging his tail. Reese is a 3-year-old Australian Shepherd mix who was transferred to us from Woods Humane Society and has been at the shelter for nearly 300 days. That's 300 mornings of wagging her tail after seeing her friends, 300 afternoons of carrying around her loyal squeaky pig toy like it's a priceless treasure, and 300 evenings of curling up after a good session of fetch. This girl is sweet, silly, and just the right mix of energy and calm. As much as she enjoys being around her shelter friends, Reese is ready to find a family of her own to give her the peace and love she deserves.

Say hello to Bubba, a 4-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix with a big heart, a goofy grin, and an endless love for people. Bubba came to us from Woods Humane Society over 340 days ago and has been patiently waiting at the shelter, hoping each day will be the one he finally meets his forever family. In the meantime, he’s been charming every staff member and volunteer he meets with his playful energy, affectionate nature, and snack-loving personality. Bubba is the definition of a lovable goofball. He hasn’t met a stranger he didn’t like, greeting everyone with his trademark smile and a happy tail wag. He enjoys getting out for walks, exploring the world, and meeting new friends, but one of the best things about Bubba is watching him do his zoomies. He tucks his butt in like he’s trying to go faster, zipping around with the biggest grin, and it’s impossible not to laugh.
