When Yvette arrived at the Humane Society of Ventura County, she came with a big responsibility: raising her litter of eight kittens. She handled motherhood with stability, patience, and a whole lot of love, with help from her foster family. Each of her babies has since grown up and found their forever homes. However, Yvette has now been waiting at the shelter for her happily ever after for nearly 120 days!

Say hello to Jazmine, the real-life princess of the Humane Society of Ventura County. Recently, her adorable colt, Abu (now Finn), found his forever home, and now it's this sweet mama's turn. Jazmine came to us in April as one of eight pregnant mares at risk of euthanasia in Riverside County. Thankfully, a kindhearted woman rescued her and brought her to the safety of our shelter, where Jazmine soon gave birth to her handsome colt. Since then, this gentle 11-year-old Quarterhorse mare has captured hearts with her sweet nature and calm spirit.

At just 6-months-old, Panda and Pikachu have already proven that friendship is their greatest power. This bonded pair of kittens has spent over 90 days at the Humane Society of Ventura County, patiently waiting for their chance to find a loving home together. Like a true Pokémon duo, their bond is unbreakable, and their personalities complement one another perfectly.

When you first meet Panda and Pikachu, you might notice their shy, cautious nature. They take a little time to warm up to new people, but once they do, their sweet and affectionate sides begin to shine. These boys love nothing more than curling up together for a nap, grooming one another, and watching the world go by from the comfort of their favorite cat tree. Over time, they’ve grown more confident and playful, showing off the curiosity and charm that make kittens so endearing.

Like his namesake suggests, this handsome guy has a need for speed. However, what he needs now more than ever is a calm, loving place to call home.

Our sweet girl, Bullseye, has come a long way on her journey, and we’re thrilled to share that she is now ready to find her forever home! This lovable 6-month-old Boxer mix pup came to us as a stray in early July of this year. Though we don’t know much about her past, what we’ve learned since she arrived 80 days ago speaks volumes about her strength, charm, and affectionate spirit. Some things are just better in pairs, and that’s certainly true for Ruby & Rosie! These 4-month-old kittens are a bonded duo who have grown up side by side and are now ready to find their forever family. Ruby & Rosie came to HSVC as strays when they were just tiny fur babies. To give them the best chance at thriving, they were placed in foster care, where they were nurtured and cared for until they were old enough to begin their journey to adoption. Their start in foster care gave them the love and safety they needed to blossom, and now it’s time for the next chapter of their story.
