Five Dollar Friday - Help Cover The Cost Of Mela's Surgery

Five Dollar Fridays! Mela was brought to the Humane Society of Ventura County on January 15th after being pulled from a high kill shelter by a private rescue group. Mela is an absolute doll but has a medical condition that requires the support of our community to get her back on her feet.

Thank You Students of Thacher School!

Earlier this month we got a call from one of our volunteers, a student at Thacher School. She talked about how the school had a community service day later during the month and if it would be possible for her and some other students to donate a few hours to the shelter.

This regal young man is Jed. Jed is a 7 month old German Shepherd mix who currently weighs in at 60 pounds. He is a recent arrival with an unknown background. Jed is a very courageous young dog.

Welcoming in the New Year!

It is hard to believe that we are already close to one week into 2016. This time of year people all over begin to wrap up the old and start making plans for the new. One popular tradition is the New Years Resolution. This coming year why not set resolutions for you AND your pets! Your pets may benefit from many of the same goals you set for yourselves such as more regular exercise and dropping a couple pounds; what a great way to work as a team!
