Eight year old Frasier, an adorable 9 lb Terrier mix, was brought to the shelter after his owner passed away. Unfortunately we do not have any back ground information on him though we can assure you he is quite the lover!
The microchip is a simple, elegant product of our high-tech age. No bigger than a grain of rice or more costly than a month's supply of pet food, a pet microchip and enrollment in a pet recovery database brings lost pets home and provides peace of mind that your beloved companion will never wander unknown.
One of the things that makes the Humane Society of Ventura County so unique is its ability to house and rehabilitate neglected and abused horses and other livestock on its 4.4 acre property in Ojai.
If you have visited the Humane Society of Ventura County in the last couple of days you may have noticed quite a bit of construction going on in our back dog yards. Due to the support and generosity of Ed and Debbie Guerra there are 3 new dog yards being installed!
We had a wonderful and productive weekend at the shelter during our first clean up day of 2016! We would like to thank all of the volunteers who came out on Sunday to participate.
This handsome guy is Frank! Frank came to the shelter with his sister Sally when he was only 6 months old all the way back in April.
Five Dollar Fridays! Mela was brought to the Humane Society of Ventura County on January 15th after being pulled from a high kill shelter by a private rescue group. Mela is an absolute doll but has a medical condition that requires the support of our community to get her back on her feet.
