The Humane Society of Ventura County announces their fall fundraising event SPAYghetti – NO BALLS, Sunday, September 15, 2019, from noon to 3 PM at Four Brix Winery in Ventura. All funds raised at this event will benefit the HSVC low-cost Spay and Neuter Clinic services.

Thank You Fire Station #23!

On August 15th, a dog fell down the cliffside of the Ventura River in Oak View. Luckily, the Ventura County Fire Department Station #23 was there to help! Thank you to Captain, Tod Berryman; Engineer, Reed Adams; Fireman & Paramedic, Ryan Coccia; Fireman, Myles Shuler; and Fireman, Aaron Cranage, for their outstanding work! *The dog had no injuries and is happy to be back at home with his family.*

Rescue Kittens Find the Purr-fect Home!

Thank you, Channing, for adopting Cheez-It and Arlene! It's always a good day when not one, but two kittens get to go home to the same family! Word must have gotten around that the Humane Society of Ventura County was full of cats and kittens available for adoption.

Volunteer Spotlight - Thank You Dominic!

Whether assisting our kennel staff caring for animals, answering phones, or organizing an event, our volunteers are truly worth their weight in gold. Dominic has been volunteering for the Humane Society of Ventura County since 2015. Over the years, he has helped the Shelter in a variety of areas working with our animals and helping at the various events the Shelter puts on throughout the year. However, what he enjoys the most is working with the dogs.

Humane Society of Ventura County is Awarded $42,000 Grant To Help Needy Animals

The Humane Society of Ventura County is pleased to be the recipients of a $42,000 grant from the GlobalGiving Foundation, recently secured by Grant Associate, Ralph Saccomano. A portion of these resources has already been put to good use with the purchase of a new horse stock trailer and initial support for our recently implemented Pantry 4 Paws program. GlobalGiving is the largest global crowdfunding community connecting nonprofits, donors, and companies in nearly every country, and we at the HSVC are grateful for their generosity.
