New Jump Pen!
Our buddy Bryant checking out the new jump pen! Thanks to Sue & Alex Saraceno for donating the funds and organizing the improvements to one of our old dog yards and Pacific Iron & Steel for the awesome job!
Previously, the HSVC only had one jump pen, which was used predominantly for dogs who can jump or climb out of anything. We are so pleased to have a second pen, constructed to be safe and secure for these little Houdini's!
Thank you!

AHOY MATEYS!
Ahoy Mateys! A special message from Violet for all you Sea Dogs out there:
DON'T TAKE A PUP AWAY FROM THEIR CANINE FAMILY BEFORE 8 WEEKS OF AGE: Canine moms provide their puppies with tons of antibodies to keep them healthy! Being around litter mates teach them a lot about how to get along with other dogs and decreases the chance of behavior issues when they get older.

Howdy Gilda!
Gilda is a yearling Andalusian horse. Gilda was one of 5 horses brought to the shelter by our Humane Officers on Dec 09, 2014. All 5 horses were emaciated and needed special care. Thanks to the support of our community and our hardworking kennel staff the horses are back in good health and available for adoption!
Gilda is young and will need all normal training. She has a friendly disposition and she will be a worthy project for someone willing to invest in her!

Snoopy is a sweet, male, tricolor Beagle. He is about 10 years old and very active for a"senior" fella! Snoopy came in as a lost dog on February 27, 2015 and was never claimed. Snoopy can be quite the talker and our kennel staff has observed that he gets along well with the other dogs they have put him with.

Low Cost Vaccination Clinic
The current drought situation forces wild animals into our neighborhoods in search of sources of food and water. This may cause our pets to have increased interactions with wild animals, such as coyotes and raccoons. It is good time to make sure your pets are up to date on their vaccines to help protect them from the rabies virus.
