The Humane Society of Ventura County is a compassionate care shelter and non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and adoption of animals in need throughout Ventura County.
If you have visited the Humane Society of Ventura County in the last couple of days you may have noticed quite a bit of construction going on in our back dog yards. Due to the support and generosity of Ed and Debbie Guerra there are 3 new dog yards being installed!
We had a wonderful and productive weekend at the shelter during our first clean up day of 2016! We would like to thank all of the volunteers who came out on Sunday to participate.
Five Dollar Fridays!
Mela was brought to the Humane Society of Ventura County on January 15th after being pulled from a high kill shelter by a private rescue group. Mela is an absolute doll but has a medical condition that requires the support of our community to get her back on her feet.
Earlier this month we got a call from one of our volunteers, a student at Thacher School. She talked about how the school had a community service day later during the month and if it would be possible for her and some other students to donate a few hours to the shelter.
