Sequoia Update

We are so proud of our girl Sequoia who has recovered wonderfully after having a necessary surgery on her ACL. Yesterday, Sequoia had a visit with her veterinarian at VetSurg in Ventura to check on her progress after being on light duty while she recovered. Her Doctor gave raving reviews and is confident that she will back to her old self in no time.

We would like to give a huge thank you to all of the volunteers who came to the shelter yesterday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. to help clean up the grounds . Martin Luther King Jr. Day is known as a day of service and many individuals spend this day giving back to their community.

Happily Ever After!

These two handsome dogs look like they belong together, and that's because they do! These two brothers were brought to the Humane Society of Ventura County back in September when they were just a few months old. The two made quite a pair and were regulars at events around town where they made an impression on everyone they met with their spunky personalities and playful spirit.

Eight Puppies Born at the Humane Society of Ventura County

Just days before the Thomas Fire began in Upper Ojai, eight Shepherd puppies were born at the Humane Society of Ventura County. Just ten days prior, their mother Butterscotch had been brought to the shelter by a private rescue group. It was apparent from the start that Butterscotch was expecting and was set up with the necessary amenities. On November 28th, Butterscotch delivered 2 girls and 6 boys.
