Boy Scout Troop 504 to the Rescue!

We would like to express our appreciation to Ojai Boy Scout Troop 504 for dedicating time and effort to revitalize our dog agility yard! Troop 504's Reid Wadsworth created the revitalization project and led a team of scouts to clear, repair, and paint our shelter's large agility yard. They braved the Ojai heat on Saturday, July 16th, and did an excellent job! Thank you, Reid, and members of Troop 504!

Search Dog Foundation Visits HSVC to Educate Campers

Our Animal Adventure Summer Campers got a special visit on their last day of camp! Thank you to Mandy, Sylvia, Abby, and Heatherlyn of the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation (SDF) for joining us at the shelter and teaching our campers about their organization! SDF even brought three search dogs, Nala, Hugo, and Ridge, to demonstrate their search and rescue skills. What a perfect way to finish up summer camp!

Thank You, Ava!

A big thank you goes out to young animal-lover Ava for donating to our shelter to help animals in need! Ava recently hosted a lemonade stand in her neighborhood and raised $107 for the animals of the HSVC. Wow! This is her second time donating to the shelter and we are so touched by her kindness. HSVC Executive Director Eric Knight was on had to accept her generous donation. Way to go, Ava!

Mila Finds Her forever Home!

We are thrilled to share that Mila has found her forever home thanks to our friends at Bay Area Balanced Dog Training! She was adopted by a lovely family and will even be gaining a fellow Malinois big brother in her new home!
