A Big Thanks to Boy Scout Troop 179!

Last week the Humane Society of Ventura County was the lucky recipient of a boy Scout Eagle Project. Michael Hansen, of Troop 179 in Ventura, approached the HSVC to see where they could be of service. After meeting with our Shelter Director, Michael was inspired to create a peaceful area at the shelter for our customers to enjoy.

Sometimes though, we adopt one and after a few nights of no sleep, clearing them off the counters, detangling them off the couch we ask, why? Humane Officers Rescue Neglected Bulldogs

On June 27th, two Bulldogs were seized in the field by the Humane Society of Ventura County after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen. The two Bulldogs were taken directly to see a veterinarian-both had severe cases of myasis, more commonly known as fly strike, on their ears and heads.
