A Big Thanks to Boy Scout Troop 179!

Last week the Humane Society of Ventura County was the lucky recipient of a boy Scout Eagle Project. Michael Hansen, of Troop 179 in Ventura, approached the HSVC to see where they could be of service. After meeting with our Shelter Director, Michael was inspired to create a peaceful area at the shelter for our customers to enjoy.

Next to our Visitor Center is a gazebo that had previously been donated and Michael's project was to pave the gazebo, create a pathway, and add benches for folks to relax.

We are very grateful for Michael’s contribution to the shelter. Often times shelters can be a very emotional place. Whether our customers are contemplating an adoption, surrendering an animal, or even dealing with the loss of a pet, they can benefit from a peaceful area to get their thoughts together, be with family, or just enjoy our beautiful grounds.

We would like to give a big thank you to Michael Hansen for choosing to complete his project for the Humane Society of Ventura County and the team he coordinated for this awesome project. It looks wonderful and already people are enjoying your generous gift to the HSVC!
