Attention kitten foster parents! We need you! Before the Covid-19 shut-down, we had all the pieces in place to start this season's kitten foster program at HSVC. We had to put our dreams on hold during our shelter closure, but that didn’t stop the kittens!
The HSVC Spay/Neuter Clinic is once again open for business! To make up for lost time during kitten season, we are having a “First 50 Free + FVRCP” promotion for cats! Any healthy cat weighing over 2 pounds can make an appointment for FREE spay or neuter surgery and a FVRCP vaccine if needed. Litters of kittens are welcome! Please note our procedures and policies have changed due to social distancing protocols, including new curbside drop-off and pickup.
The Humane Society of Ventura County is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19. Adoptions are now being performed by appointment only. No animals will be available for viewing without an appointment.
We recently upgraded our computer software and realized that our year-end statistics for 2019 were incorrect. Our team of dedicated employees and volunteers work hard to provide the best outcome for needy animals throughout our county. As a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with over 87 years of service to Ventura County, we owe our many successes to the support we have received from our community. The following numbers have been adjusted with the new information.Thank you all for supporting the Humane Society of Ventura County!
Community Cats are the unowned, free-roaming cats many of our citizens find inhabiting their backyard, orchard, garage, farmland, etc. Many of these cats are considered “Feral”, or too poorly socialized to be placed as a typical pet.

Spring is here and with the change of seasons comes big changes in education. Students and teachers are no longer learning in their classrooms. Instead, they are participating in distance learning from home as a result of COVID-19. To continue humane education outreach efforts, HSVC Humane Educator Angie Chupek Sagliani has created interactive online presentations designed specifically for distance learning.
