Welcome HSVC's New Volunteer Coordinator, Jennifer Grimm!

The HSVC is thrilled to welcome Jennifer Grimm to the team as our Volunteer Coordinator! A Ventura native, Jennifer recently relocated back to Ventura County after spending the last 17 years in San Francisco working in animal welfare. Jennifer has a wide range of knowledge and experience working with both volunteers and animals. We're so excited to have her aboard! "I have always had a passion for animals and volunteering and I am so excited to have found a job where I can work with both!" said Jennifer. Rescheduled! HSVC Cares FREE Vaccination Clinic in Oxnard

Our Holiday Photo Booth is Ready for Action!

The holidays are here and we're spreading cheer! HSVC's annual holiday photo booth is up and ready for action. Stop by the shelter any time during business hours to snap a festive photo with your furry friends. The booth, complete with holiday sweaters and accessories for your four-legged friends, will be available all December long to help spread holiday cheer this year! Don't forget to tag us in your merry photos for a chance to be featured on our social media! Follow and tag us @humanesocietyvc on Instagram and Facebook. Help us spread joy and who knows, you may even find the purrfect addition to your family when you visit us! Our shelter is open Monday - Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm and we are located at 402 Bryant St. in Ojai, CA.

HSVC Welcomes Director of Development, Amber Landis!

The HSVC is excited to welcome Amber Landis to the Humane Society of Ventura County team as our new Director of Development! Amber has been in the nonprofit sector for over 15 years and has worked with a variety of nonprofit organizations in Ventura County: Rubicon Theatre, Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County, to just name a few. She served on the local Association of Fundraising Professionals Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties (AFP SBV) chapter board for 8 years and is a current AFP SBV member.  When Amber is not working, her two children keep her busy and on the go! "I am so excited to help steward and grow philanthropy for the shelter. The HSVC has a long history of making a positive impact in our community and I am thrilled I get to be a part of it!" said Amber. Welcome to the team, Amber!

Thank you, Ojai Skate Club!

The HSVC would like to extend a big thank you to Francesca (left) and the Ojai Skate Club for their generous donation to benefit animals in need! The club recently hosted a free community event and gathered donations via donation jars at the event. HSVC Adoption Counselor Kayla Brockmeyer (right) was on hand to happily accept the donation. According to Francesca, this is the first of many donations the Ojai Skate Club hopes to make to our shelter. Thank you, Ojai Skate Club, for being a friend to animals in need!
