We are looking for a reliable, skilled maintenance worker to join our HSVC team! This individual will be tasked with performing essential upkeep tasks throughout our facility including kennel repairs, yard maintenance, and daily operations assistance. If you are a self-motivated person with a passion for problem-solving and collaboration, we want you on our team!
It's been a busy week at the HSVC and we don't see it slowing down any time soon! We have taken in several evacuated horses whose homes were being threatened by severe flooding. Our Humane Officers and equine specialists went out in the field to assist anyone in need with evacuating their barn animals. Our kennel staff has been working tirelessly to care for the additional animals now at the shelter and our office staff has been busy answering calls to offer additional resources. Thank you all for your dedication and hard work!

Attention pet owners! Ventura County, specifically the Ojai Valley, is under a severe flood watch until 10 pm Tuesday. Please keep your animals indoors as much as possible to keep them safe and dry. Be sure to have go-bags prepared for your pets with all the important items they will need in the event you need to evacuate quickly.
Attention cat and kitten lovers! Our shelter is overflowing with feline friends, so we are offering an adoption special to help them find their furever homes faster. Cat and kitten adoption fees are half-priced all January long! What better way to ring in the New Year than with a new fur best friend!

The HSVC would like to extend a big thank you to volunteer Larry for making new signs for the shelter! Larry, a longtime supporter of the shelter, handmade each sign and even installed them for us on a gorgeous post.
