Event Weekend Wrap Up

It was a jam-packed event weekend for the HSVC! We were thrilled to welcome award-winning kitten rescuer and bestselling author, Hannah Shaw, aka Kitten Lady, to Ojai on Friday, March 22nd. Our staff continued the fun the next day at the Spring Wine Walk in downtown Ventura. Thank you to all who attended one or both events and helped us spread the animal love this weekend!

Kitten Lady presented to a packed house full of cat lovers, animal welfare workers, fellow educators, and more. Her presentation focused on neonatal kitten care, the benefits of fostering, and how anyone can make a difference in the lives of young kittens. A big shoutout goes out to our friends at the Ojai Valley Woman's Club for allowing us to use their facility for our event!

Above: Fans had the opportunity to meet Kitten Lady, get autographs, and take photos during the post-presentation meet and greet. They were also able to purchase Kitten Lady merchandise at the event.

HSVC staff also attended Saturday's Spring Wine Walk in downtown Ventura. Volunteer Coordinator Astrid Derringer (above), Director of Development Amber Landis (above), and Media and Marketing Manager Amy King spent the afternoon giving out free pet swag and sharing information about HSVC's programs and services. HSVC Alumni pup Simba was also in attendance, which further enticed animal lovers to visit the booth. We had a blast exhibiting at this event and meeting our many supporters!

RescueCon 2024 was also supposed to happen on March 23rd. However, it was postponed due to severe weather conditions. All are invited to join us on it's new day, Saturday, April 27th, from 11 am - 4 pm. Visit our website event page to learn more.
