HSVC Visits Weathersfield Elementary
Staff members from the Humane Society of Ventura County recently visited students at Weathersfield Elementary School in Thousand Oaks. Christy Warner, a teacher at Weathersfield, leads and advises a large group of students who participate in the Kiwanis K-Kids service program. They raised $203 for HSVC and donated pet food and other supplies. It was great to see the students actively giving back to their community. We were really impressed with the leadership team who hosted the presentations!
HSVC is always excited to visit schools in our community and share information about the shelter, animal welfare, and pet responsibility. If your school would like to participate in Humane Education presentations in the new year, please email our Humane Educator, Angie Chupek Sagliani, at [email protected] or call the shelter at 805-646-6505.
As a private nonprofit, our shelter does not receive any funding from the government, county, or any other national welfare organization. We rely entirely on the generosity of animal lovers like the students at Weathersfield Elementary to continue providing our vital services. If you are interested in hosting a fundraiser to benefit our shelter or making a large in-kind donation, please contact Community Development Manager Steve McCurry at [email protected].
