Volunteers - The Heart of the Community

There are many ways that volunteers can give back to the community while helping to improve the lives of animals in need. While many of our volunteers choose to work directly with animals, volunteers may also donate their time and skills in other ways.

One such way is with assisting with our donation boxes located at business throughout the county. From Simi Valley to Ojai, these dedicated volunteers regularly collect the donations gathered on their designated route. Besides checking in with the generous businesses that host a box they are always looking to create new partnerships with those who are interested in supporting the Shelter. With nearly 50 boxes placed around the County, these donations can add up and on a good month may bring in nearly $800!

As a private nonprofit animal welfare organization, we rely on donations from the public to provide our vital services to the community. We would like to thank Barbara Berns, Carol Bley, Linda Bissig, Shirley Defazio, and Lynette Malone, for their hard work with the donation routes!
