Tinsel Finds Her Furever Home!

We are elated to share seriously pawesome news! Our darling senior furiend Tinsel was adopted by an amazing woman who adores her as much as we do! Tinsel is thriving in the company of her new human, Jodine, and adapting unsurprisingly well to her elder doggo housemate, Rocky, a nearly 14-year-old rescue Labrador Retriever.

Eight-year-old Tinsel was brought to the HSVC in early November of 2022 as part of a humane investigation. She was extremely shy and was quickly placed into foster care to help alleviate her stress. After bouncing from one foster home to another, Tinsel returned to the shelter in late October of this year. Over the year she was with us, she evolved into an “entirely different cat”, as many of her furiends noted. We’re amazed how much she progressed while living in several foster homes, and immensely grateful to the generous kind humans who granted her patience and safe spaces to evolve and be the endearingly hilarious and ridiculously sweet cat she is at heart.

Tinsel is all about that snug life and gleefully purrs away while sharing her new bed with her furever human. When she isn’t snoozing, snacking or stealthily sneaking scratches, she loves basking in her sunshine nooks and reveling in the creature comforts in her very own home.

"It's been a little over a week since I adopted Tinsel. She's so lovely and beautiful. I can't say enough good things about her. She spends most of her time on my bed and occasionally will venture out to the living room where her scratch pad is - she will pass behind the couch and locate me in the chair watching TV. Last night she jumped onto the chair and laid on my lap during SNL! I have a wide windowsill in that room and she'll lay there and watch the tree leaves blow and get some sun. Just know that she's adorable and I love her and she's in good hands!" said Jodine.

Tinsel is a gentle giant who inspired us with her adaptable nature, capacity to trust and forge interspecies companionships. She taught us to be simultaneously vulnerable and trusting, apprehensive and affectionate, fearful and fearless. Our beautiful quirky giant etched out a special place in all our hearts, and we are pawsitive Jodine and Rocky were worth Tinsel’s year-long wait! Happy tails, darling Tinsel!
