Tinker's Treat - Donations to Benefit Senior Dogs
John Darling adopted his sweet senior Tinker from The Humane Society of Ventura County a little over 2.5 years ago when Tinker was seven years old. Sadly she recently passed away, but not before enjoying what were most likely the best years of her life with John and his family.
Tinker’s passing came suddenly leaving a terrible void in the family's heart. As part of John’s healing process he single-handedly organized a program to benefit senior dogs in shelters. In a matter of a few weeks John raised the funds to cover over 20 senior adoptions and the HSVC was the lucky recipient of his kindness and generosity.
During our Open House on June 11th, John Darling set up a booth to promote the benefits and joy of adopting senior dogs. Since Saturday, 5 senior dogs have found their forever homes and we expect that number to grow as our community becomes more aware of all the rewards of a senior dog!
