Thank You Ventura Potters' Guild!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's annual Bowl of Thanks fundraiser sponsored by the Ventura Potters' Guild a great success!

We so appreciate the efforts of Cecile Faulconer, Camille Borchard, Stacy Rowe and Drew Lurie; Ellen Wohlstadter’s pottery demonstrations; and the generosity of the Ventura Harbor Restaurants.  And, a special thank you to the participating artists of the Guild’s 140+ membership and to the multiple clay schools’ art students and teachers who crafted the beautiful bowls, including Ojai Valley School, Ojai Pottery and Clay School, California State University Channel Islands and Firestick Pottery.  Everyone’s efforts combined to create a wonderful event.  Thank you.

Your recognition of the Humane Society of Ventura County for our “help during the Thomas Fire” was very timely last week as we simultaneously responded to and immediately sheltered 284 animals from the Simi Easy and Santa Paula Maria Fires. Your donation goes toward the housing, feeding, medical and general needs of these animals. Many of the evacuee animals, including horses and other livestock, maybe with us well into the coming year. We are committed to these animals for as long as needed, at no cost to their families. Your support makes it possible for us always to strive for excellence in responding to animal welfare issues in our community and to continue to be prepared to assist our community as well as neighboring communities of Ventura County with our disaster emergency response efforts.

Because of the Ventura County Potters’ Guild’s generosity, we can continue to make a difference to the thousands of animals and owners the Shelter helps every year.  Thank you!

Proceeds from the event were split between the Humane Society of Ventura County and the Ojai Family Shelter. As a private nonprofit animal welfare organization, we rely 100 percent on the support of our community to offer our many essential programs and services to Ventura County and beyond.

Thank you to Linda Duval, Laurie McKnett, Laurie Adams, Michelle Murphy, and Sheila Kane McCollum for volunteering their time to represent the Humane Society of Ventura County.

Special thanks to Missy Chamberlain & Ellen Neitlich for their efforts in making this event a success!
