Congratulations Benji! Benji had been at the shelter for 9 months before his new family came in to take him home. This sweety arrived at the shelter on April 26, 2014 as an owner surrender.

Benji has always been quite the gentlemen and a favorite of our volunteers who got know him and how sweet he was during his lengthy stay. Benji has always had a bit of a hard time learning to walk on a leash so he needed someone who can provide him with plenty of lap time. That special person was MarDee.

MarDee saw our dear Benji on Facebook and commented that she was going to be at the shelter that afternoon to adopt him. She wasn’t kidding! Mar Dee came to see Benji that day and fell in love. She had to make two trips to the shelter from Ventura to finalize the adoption.

On her second trip MarDee brought her daughter, who she shares a home with, and her daughters two dogs to make sure the dogs would get along. Well, guess what!? One of those dogs was Valentine! One of Benji’s old friends from the shelter! Valentine had also been a long term resident, she was here from January 25, 2014 until her adoption back in mid- August.

We were all so happy to see these two buddies re-united and that Benji was going to such a loving and caring home. We have received a few updates since his adoption on 12/30 and happy to report he is doing great!
