Look who got adopted! Congratulations to 3-year-old Lucero on finding her forever home with Davina and Cody! The gorgeous Thoroughbred/Quarterhorse mix is one of several horses impounded in the field by our Humane Officers back in August 2022 as part of an abuse and neglect case. After almost one-and-a-half years, the case reached a resolution through the Ventura Superior Court and Lucero was finally able to be made available for adoption!

Davina had been searching for a friendly horse to be her trail-riding buddy. She came across Lucero's profile on MyRightHorse.org and submitted an adoption inquiry. In no time, Davina was visiting Lucero in person at the shelter to see if they were a good fit. According to HSVC's Equine Manager Christina, it was a match made in heaven! We could not be happier for our girl!
