Staff and Volunteers Honor Laurie Adams' Memory with Pack Walk

Staff and volunteers gathered Friday morning to partake in an all shelter pack walk to honor Laurie Adams, a beloved HSVC volunteer who passed away in early February of this year. Laurie's husband, Roger, and her two fur children Beau and Luke were also in attendance. It was the largest pack walk in shelter history and the perfect way to honor a truly special individual.

Laurie, an HSVC Animal Ambassador, began her journey with the shelter in 2018. She made a difference in the lives of countless animals during her time at the shelter. We are so grateful for her commitment and dedication to helping animals in need.

"Laurie was an all encompassing volunteer. She always tried to work with the dogs that were having the hardest time at the shelter, the underdogs. She was supportive not only of the animals, but also of the kennel staff and was always there to offer emotional support during tough times. She's was such a sweet person and will be very missed down here," said Kennel Attendant Jessica Tucker.

After the pack walk, the group gathered in front of the shelter to share kind words and enjoy some refreshments. Several of Laurie's fellow Animal Ambassadors even made poster boards with photos to commemorate their beloved friend. Thank you to all who came out to honor Laurie!
