HSVC would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Nan Baker and her army of Kennel Quilters for sending gorgeous quilts to the shelter! Nan recently reached out to our staff inquiring if we could use any handmade quilts for animals displaced by the recent floods in Ventura County. We of course said yes! Nan and her Kennel Quilt friends immediately sent bundles of stunning quilts to comfort the animals in our care. Each batch was even approved by the Kennel Quilt animal ambassadors! Thank you, Kennel Quilts, for being a friend to animals in need!

Kennel Quilts is an organization made up of animal-loving volunteers who spring into action when disasters strike by providing handmade quilts to shelter animals. The group was formed after Hurricane Sandy struck in October of 2012. Thanks to their partnership with PetFinder, Kennel Quilts receives a request any time an animal shelter is in need of support from anywhere in the country. Group members then mail packages of quilts directly to the shelters. What a great way to make a difference while also doing what they love!
