Raise the Roof: Ojai Valley Lions Club Funds New Hay Barn

Many thanks to Mark of the Ojai Valley Lions Club for a donation to fund a second hay barn for the Humane Society of Ventura County. According to Mark, the club’s current president, funding the barn was an easy decision after seeing the HSVC response to offer sanctuary to animals impacted by the Thomas, Hill and Woolsey Fires. Wanting to support a project that was needed right away was also a factor. “Knowing that this structure will help protect livestock feed for the horses on the Shelter property was the tipping point in deciding which project to fund,” said Mark.

Greg Cooper, Director of Community outreach for the HSVC was deeply moved by their generosity. “The Ojai Valley Lions Club is such a tremendous resource for our community and we are honored to be amongst the recipients of their support.”

The Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.

The second hay barn will be built adjacent to the first near the horse corral area on the Shelter property and when complete will house the hay and feed for the livestock at the HSVC.

Thank you Ojai Valley Lions Club.
