Hay Now, Lion’s Club Donation Put to Use

Thanks to a generous donation by the Ojai Valley Lion's Club, a second hay barn is under construction at the Humane Society of Ventura County. Once complete, it will be a duplicate of the hay barn already on site at the Shelter property in Ojai and will be used to store large animal feed.

"Having a safe place to store feed for the horses we have under our care safe from the weather and critters has been a top priority for the Shelter,” said Christie Tracy, the Equine Specialist at the HSVC. The hay barn is being constructed by long-time Volunteers Keith Duval and John Talley who have dedicated a day or two per week to keep the project on schedule for completion.

We are continuously in awe of the support we receive from our community and extend our thanks to the Ojai Valley Lion’s Club for making this project possible.
