We are beyond excited to share that after 559 days at the shelter, Flicka has been adopted into her forever home! She is living happily ever after with Robin and two new fur siblings!

Flicka is one of several animals brought in by our Humane Officers in August 2022 as part of an abuse and neglect case. Almost all the other animals involved in her case have found new homes, but Flicka wasn't as lucky. She remained at the shelter under protective custody for almost one-and-a-half years until her case was finally resolved through the Ventura Superior Court in December 2023.

Robin visited the shelter in early February searching for a third furry companion to complete her family. She came across Flicka and was moved by her story. Robin quickly bonded with Flicka and soon returned with her other two fur babies for a meet and greet. The trio were fast friends and Flicka was placed with Robin as a foster-to-adopt pup. She finalized Flicka's adoption in mid-February and has been living the good life ever since!

"Flicka went from running the perimeter of my yard looking for a way out to being a cuddly couch potato. She’s exceeded my expectations! Lover her!" said Robin after taking Flicka home.
