We need your help to find our longest shelter resident her forever home! Five-year-old Flicka has been residing at HSVC for over 515 days. She was brought in by our Humane Officers in August 2022 as part of an abuse and neglect case. After almost one-and-a-half years, her case reached a resolution through the Ventura Superior Court and she was finally made available for adoption!

Flicka has become a beloved member of the HSVC family due to her extended length of stay. We want nothing more than for her to find the loving home she deserves! Her sweet and playful personality comes out when she is on walks or exploring in our agility yard. You can also often find her sitting in the laps of staff and volunteers to get infinite cuddles. She adores belly rubs, and her joyful zoomies will melt your heart. She's a very special girl and we want to find her an equally special home! 

Those interested in Flicka can visit her at the shelter any time Monday – Saturday between 10 am and 4:30 pm. We ask those visiting her to take the time to get to know her, as she does exhibit some barrier aggression when in her kennel and play yards. We recommend asking an animal care staff member to take her into our agility yard to truly get to know her sweet personality.
