Cookies! Cupcakes! Candy! HSVC Bake Sale Needs Your Support
Cookies! Cupcakes! Candy! The Bake Sale is returning to two upcoming events held by the Humane Society of Ventura County. Baked goodies of all kinds are needed to help raise funds for Shelter animals.
Animal Ambassador extraordinaire, Teri Reid, is once again taking the helm to organize the sale. If you would like to donate a baked good please email Teri at [email protected]. She can also be reached at her cell, 805-535-0205.
All bakers should try to package their items for sale. Baked goods should be labeled with the name of the item, the baker’s name, and the main ingredients of the recipe. We would also need to know anything special about the goods, i.e. gluten-free, vegan, etc. PLEASE let us know if the recipe has any peanuts and tree nuts in it. Listing the ingredients helps those buyers who have various food allergies make an informed choice.
The first is Santa Paws at the Shelter on Sunday, Dec. 1. The event is from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
The second, larger event is the annual Purrs and Paws Holiday Boutique and Marketplace, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14. This is held at the Chaparral Auditorium, 414 E. Ojai Ave. We expect hundreds of people to attend.
- Please mark any plates and display stands that you would like returned with your name. You can drop off items at the Humane Society the day before; they close at 5 p.m. Or if you like, bring the items early the morning of the events.
- Please include a note with your items with the name of the baked goods, your name and the ingredients in order of weight, especially if there are any peanuts and tree nuts in the mix. If you have any suggestions on price and/or can package the items for sale, that would be helpful.
- If you have anything we can use to display the baked goods we would appreciate the loan.
If baking isn’t your thing but you would like to contribute, the following items are needed to make this sale successful: small and large paper plates, plastic knives and forks, napkins, price tags, and especially any tabletop displays that can be used to hold the baked goods.
