Bronco and Mr. P are Now Available for Adoption!

We have not one, but two new horses available for adoption! Please join us in welcoming 28-year-old Mr. P (left) and 3-year-old Bronco (right) to the HSVC family! These handsome boys were each brought to the shelter under separate circumstances, but they are equally deserving of loving forever homes!

Prieto, also affectionately known as Mr. P, came to the HSVC as part of a humane investigation in mid-September 2023. He was severely emaciated at the time weighing in at just 776 pounds (above, left). After working closely with our Humane Officers, Mr. P's previous owner made the difficult decision to sign him over to the HSVC to receive the best care possible. Our dedicated staff, veterinarian Dr. April Armstrong, and farrier Stacy Hyatt, have closely monitored his progress since his arrival at the shelter. The gorgeous Quarterhorse has come a long way in a short amount of time, and we're thrilled to share he is now ready for a forever home of his own! You can learn more about Mr. P by viewing his profile on MyRightHorse

Bronco was surrendered to the HSVC by his previous owner after they could no longer care for him. Since his arrival in late November, our staff have learned that the young Welsh Pony has a lively personality and thinks he would be an excellent addition to a training program. As Bronco has not received any prior training, his new home can train him however they like. So far, Bronco has only been haltered and loaded into a trailer. A behavior profile for him is currently being developed. Check out his MyRightHorse profile to learn more about Bronco!

Those interested in adopting Mr. P or Bronco can reach out to our Equine Manager, Christina, at 805-364-1150 for more information and to schedule a meet and greet.
