Amy King
Media & Marketing Manager
Amy joined the Humane Society of Ventura County team in January 2020 and has been serving as Media and Marketing Manager since early 2023. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Business Marketing from Pacific Lutheran University, where she graduated in 2017. In this role, Amy is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that elevate the shelter's brand and outreach efforts. With a background in graphic design, social media, copywriting, photography/videography, and business marketing, Amy brings a unique blend of creativity and strategic thinking to her work. She has played an integral part in expanding the shelter’s visibility and fostering stronger connections within the community and beyond.
In her role, Amy manages the shelter’s social media platforms, ensuring the community stays informed and engaged with the latest news, events, and updates about HSVC. She also oversees content creation for the website and designs a variety of print materials, including appeals, newsletters, posters, flyers, mailers, and promotional ads. Additionally, Amy manages a Marketing Assistant, Natalie, who helps support the department’s initiatives and ensure a smooth and efficient workflow. Amy believes that all shelter animals are deserving of loving homes and is deeply committed to connecting them with the families they deserve. She is passionate about storytelling and loves creating content that tugs at the heartstrings of the community, inspiring them to take action—whether it’s adopting, volunteering, fostering, or donating to the shelter.
In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time outdoors, yoga, live music, and quality time with her loved ones. Though she has no fur children of her own, Amy is an avid plant lover and hopes to one day rescue a pup to join her tribe of leafy friends.
