The Humane Society of Ventura County is a compassionate care shelter and non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and adoption of animals in need throughout Ventura County.
Hoss is a darling 8-month-old male, brown brindle and white German Shepherd Dog mix. He has been available for adoption since Jan 15, 2015. Hoss needs some training, but he is already house broken and he knows basic commands! He will need to be introduced to where the "bathroom" is in his new home, which is to be expected when bringing a dog to a new home.
Oswald is a sweet male, Miniature Poodle who was surrendered to our Humane Officers in the field. He is around 9 years old (possibly older), and he has been at the HSVC since Jan 03, 2015.
Meet Presley Mae! Presley Mae came to the Humane Society on June 10, 2014 when she was a tiny kitten. She had hard time adjusting to shelter life, and because of her shyness she has sadly been overlooked.
HSVC is pleased to announce a new partnership with Houndstooth Pet Dental! Beginning March 21st the skilled and gentle folks from Houndstooth will offer their services at the Shelter on the third Saturday of each month from 10-1.

UPDATE: The four Brahman cattle (Antonia, Ferdinand, Bessi and Rollo) that were brought in to the HSVC by our Humane Officers last month are doing great! They have gained weight and seem to be enjoying the beautiful sunny Ojai weather. Their case is still pending so they are not yet available for adoption. We will let you know more details as they come in!

The first annual Dog Jog will be a fun event for people who love animals and want to support our LOCAL Humane Society. The Dog Jog is a 5k fun run/walk for people (we would LOVE to have dogs participate but it presents too many logistical issues for our very first 5k, hopefully the next one!). The event will take place at Lake Casitas on March 14, 2015. There will be live music by Main Street Band, food trucks, and HSVC will have both information and education booths on site.
