She is about 3 years old, and she has been at the HSVC since April 24, 2015 (she is one of the twenty cats our Humane Officers rescued in the field). Rebel is good with people and other cats, but she is still new to the cat room and needs a little bit more time to warm up. Come, bring a book, and sit by her for awhile and read together to gain her trust. You will be rewarded with a beautiful and loyal friend! Come meet her today!

Susie Gets A Makeover!

SUSIE.jpg

A very special THANK YOU to Puff N Fluff Pet Grooming in Meiners Oaks for taking such good care of our sweet Susie! Susie came into the shelter completely matted, with burrs and sticks stuck in her fur. She smelled terrible and was obviuosly uncomfortable in her own skin. One of our long time supporters called up Puff N Fluff and they offered to take care of her for free! Not only that they donated two FREE groomings a month to the Humane Society! Thank you Amber and Puff N Fluff staff for your support. Susie is super happy with her new 'do!

Beautiful Betsy

betsy.jpg

Betsy is a 7-year-old female, black Italian Greyhound and Chihuahua mix. She has been at the HSVC since Jun 05, 2015. Before Betsy was brought to the HSVC she had been found out in a field behind an old abandoned building by her soon-to-be rescuers. She was injured, most likely from being hit by a car and starving. Her rescuers are unsure of how long she was out there. Since her injury was so extensive, she had to have her hind leg amputated.
