Max and Nova's Big Day Out!

HSVC shelter dogs Nova and Max were treated to an off-site playdate this past Saturday with Kennel Attendant/Vet Assistant Natalie and Media & Marketing Coordinator Amy. The pair of pups spent the day hiking the hills of downtown Ojai, and boy did they have fun!

The outdoor excursion provided some much-needed time out of the shelter and lots of exercise for these furry friends. Max, a 4-year-old Anatolian Shepherd, and Nova, a 7-year-old Siberian Husky, both walk well on a leash and get along with most other dogs. Our staff was confident Nova and Max would do great off-site, and they proved us right!

The pair of fur besties were very friendly with the other dogs and humans they encountered throughout the day. They were even able to make it all the way to the end of the 3.5-mile trail. Awesome job Max and Nova, and thank you Natalie and Amy for taking them on an adventure!

Both Max and Nova are currently available for adoption at the HSVC! They are sweet, affectionate, and judging by the big smiles in these photos, they love to explore the great outdoors!
