HSVC Launches Coaster Campaign with Local Breweries

The HSVC is excited to partner with Rincon Brewery, Leashless Brewing, Ojai Valley Brewery, and Dargan's Irish Pub & Restaurant to launch our first-ever coaster campaign! With this campaign, animal lovers can visit some of their favorite local breweries and donate to our shelter using the QR code on the back of each coaster. What a fun and easy way to help animals in need!

Our first-ever HSVC Cares remote vaccination clinic was a huge success! Thank you to our shelter staff, volunteers, and all who attended this event to make it successful. We also want to give a shoutout to our friends at Ohana Pet Hospital for allowing us to host the event in their parking lot and to Petco Love for supplying the free vaccines!

Equine Virus Spreads Throughout Southern California

An equine virus has begun to spread in southern California among horses. Known as EHV-1 or the Equine Herpes Virus, this infection in horses can cause respiratory disease, abortion in mares, neonatal foal death, and neurological disease. Though it has not yet entered Ventura County, horse owners should be aware that the virus is present in neighboring counties such as Los Angeles County, Orange County, Santa Clara County, Riverside County, Riverside County, and San Mateo County.
