Mela's Surgery - Only $600 Left To Go!

MELA2.jpg

We have wonderful news! Mela's surgery has been officially scheduled for March 2nd! Mela was brought to the Humane Society of Ventura County on January 15th after being pulled from a high kill shelter by a private rescue group. Mela is an absolute doll but has a medical condition that requires the support of our community to get her back on her feet.

Mela has hip dysplasia that is causing her discomfort and limits the use of her back leg. Hip dysplasia in dogs is a disease where the ball and socket joint is malformed. This means that the ball portion and its socket don’t properly meet one another, resulting in a joint that rubs and grinds causing pain. Mela has seen two separate veterinarians since her arrival and surgery will be necessary. It is our hope to not only get Mela the care she requires to keep her smiling but also to find a quiet home for her that can meet her needs as she recovers.

Mela has already beaten the odds in many ways and now she needs our help. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible. We have received nearly $1650 since the beginning of her campaign! Though we haven't quite reached the full amount of $2,292 we are confident that we will get there by the time she goes in for surgery in the beginning of March.

If you would like to help support Mela you can follow the link to make a donation. No amount is to small! If donating please make sure to put "Mela" in the notes section! Thank you!
