Humane Society of Ventura County Welcomes Bixby and Mike!
“Dreams are like sticks, you just have to chase them.” – Bixby
Bixby, her human Mike Minnick, and their companion Chicken Charlie stopped by the Humane Society of Ventura County Monday for a visit. The trio rode through Ojai on their final stage of their cross-country trip. They have ridden over 25,000 miles during their adventures around the country, stopping by local shelters to help raise awareness and promote shelter animals that are in need of being adopted. The HSVC was so touched by their first visit in 2015, we had a memorial stone engraved for Bixby and Mike and were finally able to present it Monday.
“We are so pleased to have Bixby come for another visit. They are doing tremendous work promoting local shelters and we are certainly lucky to count them as friends,” said Greg Cooper, Director of Community Outreach for the HSVC. Besides visiting with their human friends, Bixby and Mike spent some one on time with Sequoia, a five year old Great Dane and Shepherd mix with a heart of gold. Sequoia, who has been at the shelter for over a year, was excited to meet the duo and before long she was having a great time.
Bixby and Mike are on the final leg of their journey that will take them to Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and finally to Palo Alto to end this journey. You can follow them on social media or online at wheresbixby.com.
