Volunteer Spotlight - Thank You Dee!
For the past 4 years Dee has dedicated her time to volunteering at the Humane Society of Ventura County. She enjoys going out to local events and helping with our information booth, telling people about our services and available animals. The first and third Saturday of each month we are fortunate to have Dee help the office with licensing, ID Tags, and filing.
Dee started volunteering with the HSVC because she was looking for something to do after her daughter joined the Navy. She has a deep love of animals and figured an animal shelter would be the place to go. She wanted to give back to the community and also do something to make her feel good. Her favorite place to be is with the cats and kittens, though the dogs and puppies are close to her heart as well. Her current ‘favorite’ would be Cally, a 2 year old domestic medium hair tabby who has been at the shelter for a year now.
When asked, Dee had this to say about volunteering for the HSVC, “You guys are great. I am in awe at how you work with people and how you’re always willing to help.” You are just as great Dee, thank you for your hard work and dedication to the animals! The HSVC could not be who we are without the help of our volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at (805)646-6505 x 110 or by email at v[email protected].
