HSVC Attends Ventura County Volunteer Fair
It was a gorgeous day at the harbor last Saturday as shelter staff and volunteers attended the Ventura County Volunteer Fair. The event, hosted by Habitat for Humanity Ventura and Portside Ventura Harbor, was a day of food, fun, and more to encourage volunteerism throughout the county. We were thrilled to be included in such a fantastic event!
Shelter dogs Pad Thai and Banh Mi attended the event as animal ambassadors. Attendees loved stopping by our booth to learn more about HSVC and, of course, get some puppy love! Despite receiving lots of interest at the fair, both Banh Mi and Pad Thai are still looking for their forever homes. Those interested in adopting one or both of these gorgeous boys can stop by the shelter Monday - Saturday between 10 am and 4:30 pm to learn more about them. They are available to bring home for just $50 now through September 10th as part of our month-long Clear the Shelters adoption promotion!
We are always looking for animal lovers to join our volunteer team! As an organization founded by volunteers, HSVC holds a special place in its heart for such dedicated individuals. Our shelter offers a variety of volunteer opportunities ranging from animal socialization and care to administrative and event assistance. Check out the volunteer page on our website to learn more and to submit an interest form. Once submitted, our Volunteer Coordinator, Astrid, will reach out to you with more details about how you can help HSVC make a difference!
HSVC would also like to extend a shoutout to volunteer John Chille. Not only did John volunteer at the event, but he also took these wonderful photos to share. You rock John!
