HSVC Helps Troop #65500 Earn Animal Helper Badge

On a fine August day, eleven outstanding girls from Girl Scout Troop #65500 visited the HSVC to learn more about the shelter and participate in a curated program given by Humane Educator, Angie Chupek Sagliani. The troop wanted to learn more about animals in this setting to gain their Animal Helper Badge. The curated hour and a half program began with a shelter tour, followed by some information about the HSVC, animal welfare, historical information about animal domestication, and lastly, a reflection on the future of animals.

The objective of this program was to encourage the participants to generate ideas about the future of human and animal relationships. The girls were hesitant to share their voices at first but by the end they provided some beautiful insight on how they see animals and humans in their own future vision. We had so much fun with them!
