Thank You Thrive Causemetics!

This past week, the Humane Society of Ventura County hosted a lively group from Thrive Causemetics at the Shelter property in Ojai, including their Founder & CEO Karissa Bodnar. They had arrived at the HSVC to present a $50,000 donation towards supporting victims of the fires.

Spurred by the devastating fires in Southern and Northern California, Karissa and her team brainstormed ways to help those directly impacted. The idea was to donate 100% of their profits from sales on their website to organizations that support both affected residents and displaced animals all over the state. On November 14, they raised $250,000 towards this cause.

Their donations were shared among the American Red Cross, North Valley Animal Disaster Group, North Valley Community Foundation, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the Humane Society of Ventura County.

“From all of us at the Humane Society of Ventura County, we are deeply humbled and honored to be a recipient of a sizeable donation from Thrive Causemetics. Rescuing and caring for evacuated animals from the Hill and Woolsey fires has been a tremendous undertaking for us at the Shelter and this donation will help us with our ongoing efforts for months to come,” said Greg Cooper, Director of Community Outreach for the HSVC.
