Thank You Thomas Fire Donors and Volunteers!

The Humane Society of Ventura County would like to thank all who donated their time, money and supplies to the Shelter both during the Thomas Fire and the weeks and months that followed.

The HSVC opened their doors 24/7 within hours of the start of the fire, providing emergency services to those who were directly impacted by this disaster. This includes the boarding, feeding and care for over 300 animals evacuated and brought to the Shelter. While most animals have been safely returned to their families, the Shelter still has nearly 30 animals being housed at their facility as a result of the fire.

The outpouring of support from foundations, businesses and individuals was overwhelming and certainly appreciated. Because of their support, the HSVC was able to provide all of their services at no cost to the public. “We can never directly thank everyone who donated to the HSVC during those trying three weeks but that doesn’t mean they are not appreciated. We certainly could not have accomplished what we did without their help,” said Greg Cooper, Director of Community Outreach for the HSVC.
