Full Bellies and Empty Kennels: Support HSVC's Pet Pantry!

At the Humane Society of Ventura County, we believe that no one should ever have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their beloved pet. For many individuals and families across Ventura County, especially those who are low-income or unhoused, that heartbreaking choice is often a daily reality. That’s why we launched our Pet Food Pantry, a countywide pet food assistance program designed to help keep pets fed, loved, and most importantly, home where they belong. Our Pet Food Pantry provides free pet food to those in need through multiple distribution locations across Ventura County. Whether you're in Ojai or elsewhere, our goal is to reach the underserved members of our community who love their animals deeply but may struggle to afford their care. By helping families feed their animals, we’re helping pets and owners stay together while also reducing the number of pets who end up in the shelter system.
This vital program is entirely supported by community donations, and that’s where you come in! We are always in need of unopened wet and dry food for both cats and dogs. If you're able to help, please consider dropping off donations at the shelter, located at 402 Bryant Street in Ojai. For added convenience, you can also support our Pet Food Pantry program by purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist or Chewy Wishlist.
As a private, local nonprofit, HSVC receives no government funding and is not affiliated with any national animal welfare organizations. Our ability to provide these life-changing services depends entirely on the compassion and generosity of our community. By donating to our Pet Food Pantry program, you’re doing more than filling a bowl. You’re giving a family hope and giving a pet the chance to stay where they are happiest: in the arms of those who love them. Together, we can ensure that no pet goes hungry and no pet parent has to face the pain of giving up their companion due to financial strain. Please consider donating today, because every pet deserves a full belly and a forever home!
