Miester is 100% Adorable!

Miester, formerly Viola, was adopted in mid-June of this year by Kara, Annika, Joel, and their family. One of a litter of 13 puppies, Miester was born on Easter Sunday after her mama, Juliet, was transferred to the HSVC from our friends at Kern County Animal Services. The 6-month-old German Shepherd pup has grown up into a happy, healthy, 61-pound girl since finding her furever home.

Koa Has Grown into Such a Handsome Boy!

We are excited to share another #pupdate from one of Mama Juliet’s puppies! Six-month-old Koapaka (Koa), formerly Hamlet, was adopted by Camille last June. Weighing just 17 pounds at his first vet visit, Koa has since grown up into a handsome 55 pound pup!

Good Girl Demi is Happier Than Ever!

Donna and Robert adopted 3-year-old Demi in early June of this year. According to the couple, they fell in love with the sweet Shepherd mix after seeing a photo of Demi online with a ladybug on her head. Five months post-adoption and Demi is still as happy and spoiled as ever in her forever home!

Romeo has Transformed into a Different Pup!

We were in awe to see how different Romeo looks now that he is all grown up! The biggest of Mama Juliet’s litter of 13, Romeo was adopted by Scott, Hadley, Anna, and Frances back in June of this year.

Echo is all Grown Up!

Echo has grown up so much since he was adopted from the HSVC in mid-June of this year! Formerly Cato, Echo is one of 13 puppies born on Easter Sunday to Mama Juliet after she was transferred from our friends at Kern County Animal Services. According to new pawrents Omar and Nellie, Echo has become a huge part of their family and absolutely loves his fur sibling, Luna.

Happy 5-Year Adoption Anniversary, Jack!

Handsome boy Jack was adopted from the HSVC almost exactly five years ago. Formerly Shaggy, 8-year-old Jack had been a resident of the HSVC for almost a year before finding his furever home with parents Louise and Paul in 2016.

Kelli was Born to Herd Sheep!

Seven-year-old Kelli was adopted from the Shelter in April of 2015 by HSVC staff member Heather Rowe. The adorable Border Collie was just 8-months-old when she was brought to the HSVC as an owner surrender. Due to the situation she came from, Kelli was very fearful when meeting new people. Heather decided to foster Kelli to help her conquer her fears, and it didn't take long for the pup to become a "foster fail." She has been living happily with Heather ever since!

Hank and Willie All Dolled Up

HSVC alums Hank and Willie, formerly Atlas and Basil, are two Chihuahuas that were rescued during a recent dog hoarding case in Lompoc. Both pups were extremely shy and scared when they were first transferred to the shelter. The pair recently stopped by to visit with their new mama, Nancy. As you can see, they have blossomed into friendly cuddle bugs since being adopted by Nancy in November of 2020.

Sugar is Still as Sweet as Can Be!

Six months later and pretty girl Sugar is still living the sweet life in her forever home! An adorable Border Collie mix, 1-year-old Sugar was transferred to the HSVC through our rescue partners, Kern County Animal Services. It didn't take long for her to catch the eye of her future parents, Jennie and Jim, and the rest is history!

Sadie Mae is All Grown Up!

Sadie Mae has grown up so much since she was adopted from the HSVC as a puppy back in mid-May! Formerly Blondie, sweet Sadie Mae was surrendered to the shelter with her four sisters to find new homes. According to her new mama Allison, the spunky Chihuahua pup has an endless amount of energy and has brought lots of joy to her home!
