    Looks like Little Bit isn't so little anymore! Formerly Weasley, this handsome boy was adopted in August of 2020 by HSVC staff member, Ralph, and his wife, Jennifer. He was just 3-months-old at the time of his adoption and has since grown up to be 14 pounds of love and fluff.

  • Grace is Doing Great!

    One month later and Grace, formerly Matzah Ball, is doing great in her furever home! Pretty girl Grace came to the HSVC in late October with her four siblings after being born to a stray mama. With her sweet personality and soft coat of fur, we knew this 6-month-old cutie would need a loving lap to cuddle up in. We're so happy she has found that with her new mama, Suzy!

  • Loki the Water Dog!

    We can't believe how handsome Loki grew up to be! Formerly Puck, 7-month-old Loki is one of Mama Juliet's 13 puppies born on Easter Sunday of this year. His new parents, Adam and Karrie, are just as in love with the sweet German Shepherd pup as they were the day they brought him home!

  • Moose's Name Truly Suits Him!

    Moose has grown up to be just that! Formerly Tybalt, 7-month-old Moose was adopted back in mid-June by Emily and her family. He was about 40 pounds the last time we checked in with him. Three months later and the handsome German Shepherd pup is now up to 70 pounds! Wow!

  • Louise Loves Her Furever Home!

    Louise, formerly Mary Lou, was adopted from the HSVC in February of 2020. Then 3-years-old, the adorable Chihuahua mix quickly caught the eye of her future pawrents, Matthew and Sophia. Though it took some time, we are thrilled to report Louise is now fully adjusted and living happily ever after in her forever home!

  • Mama Juliet is Thriving in her Furever Home!

    Six months post-adoption and Mama Juliet is thriving in her furever home! According to her new mom, Janis, it only took a couple of weeks for the sweet German Shepherd to adjust to her new surroundings. Juliet now spends her time going for morning and evening walks and being a faithful companion dog to Janis and Michael.

  • Miester is 100% Adorable!

    Miester, formerly Viola, was adopted in mid-June of this year by Kara, Annika, Joel, and their family. One of a litter of 13 puppies, Miester was born on Easter Sunday after her mama, Juliet, was transferred to the HSVC from our friends at Kern County Animal Services. The 6-month-old German Shepherd pup has grown up into a happy, healthy, 61-pound girl since finding her furever home.

  • Koa Has Grown into Such a Handsome Boy!

    We are excited to share another #pupdate from one of Mama Juliet’s puppies! Six-month-old Koapaka (Koa), formerly Hamlet, was adopted by Camille last June. Weighing just 17 pounds at his first vet visit, Koa has since grown up into a handsome 55 pound pup!

  • Good Girl Demi is Happier Than Ever!

    Donna and Robert adopted 3-year-old Demi in early June of this year. According to the couple, they fell in love with the sweet Shepherd mix after seeing a photo of Demi online with a ladybug on her head. Five months post-adoption and Demi is still as happy and spoiled as ever in her forever home!

  • Romeo has Transformed into a Different Pup!

    We were in awe to see how different Romeo looks now that he is all grown up! The biggest of Mama Juliet’s litter of 13, Romeo was adopted by Scott, Hadley, Anna, and Frances back in June of this year.
