Staff Pick - Meet Steve!

Meet Steve! This one-year-old, black and tan German Shepherd mix is a growing boy at 60 pounds. Steve came to the shelter on February 22nd and is adjusting well to shelter life. This handsome boy is very sweet and social. He enjoys his time outside whether going out for a walk or just hanging out by your side.

Kennel Attendant Vanessa has had plenty of time to get to know Steve and describes him as "a goofy guy who loves playing with his toys." When asked what she thinks the perfect home for Steve is, Vanessa replied: "Steve would do best in a very active family perhaps with other dogs for him to play with. Steve has been introduced to a few other dogs about his size and age at the shelter and did really well." Steve would like to be adopted by a family who has a tall, fenced in yard to help keep him safe. Come on over to the Shelter in Ojai and ask for him by name!

Included with every dog adoption will be the first DHLPP shot of the series (if age allows), a rabies vaccine (if age allows), a medical exam good for up to three days from participating veterinarians, implanting an identification microchip (registration extra), spay or neuter surgery if necessary as well as a collar, ID tag and a leash.

For dog adoptions, a yard check will be performed prior to adoption. In addition to adequate fencing and shelter, those wishing to adopt a pet must provide either proof of ownership of the residence or a rental agreement for that address indicating that pets are allowed.
