St. Patrick Episcopal Day School from Thousand Oaks recently visited the HSVC to participate in our first school service-learning shelter tour of the 2022-2023 school season. The 23 students walked through our beautiful 4.4-acre property with quiet excitement viewing our kennels, play yards, barn, and more.
They loved seeing the animals throughout the shelter and even tried to make friends with the cats by extending a friendly cat greeting, which they learned about prior to the start of the tour. The students were lucky to get a” hello” and “good-bye” visit from Oliver bird. He got to showcase his many talented tricks, only for crackers of course.
At the end of the tour, the group of animal-loving students generously donated pet food and supplies for the animals in need. We thank you again St. Patrick's for your kindness!
