Half the Size, Twice the Love! Shorty's Success Story

It's been one year since Shadow, now Shorty, found his happily ever after! The pint-sized pup was first brought to the shelter in March of last year after he was found abandoned by his previous owners. With his handsome face and even sweeter personality, it's no surprise that he got scooped up by Alisha and her family so quickly. Shorty and his new pawrents recently celebrated his first Gotcha Day, and we couldn't be happier for him!

Alisha and Troy visited the shelter intending to adopt a female Bulldog they saw online. However, our staff informed the couple that the pup they were interested in wouldn't do well with their feline fur babies. Disappointed but still hoping to adopt, Troy and Alisha were directed to another small, friendly dog named Shadow. Staff led the group into a play yard to get better acquainted, where Shadow promptly came when Alisha called and sat on her foot. It was love at first sight!

"Shorty has filled the void in my heart that Henry left behind, and I couldn't be more grateful for all the ways Shorty reminds me of him, and all the ways he is completely different. He's never met a human, kid, or snack he didn't like. He tries so hard to play with the kitties, but they are resistant to his charms. He tries to herd dogs at the dog park, and loves the neighbor's 14-year-old Pit Bull. Art market days are the best days ever, and spooning on the couch is his most favorite time ever. Happy Gotchaversary, Shorty McShortpants!" said Alisha. Congrats and happy tails to all!
