Sheila was born and raised in Ventura County. Her paying job was as a high school English teacher for 25 years. She has served Ventura County as a CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocate.

Growing up, Sheila's family always had pets including cats, dogs, chickens, and rabbits. She has always been a soft touch for stray or abandoned animals. Sheila first became familiar with HSVC after adopting a cat from our shelter. She was impressed with the facility and staff and became a regular donor. Sheila and her family have since adopted two more cats and a dog from HSVC.

According to Sheila, it was an honor to be invited to serve on the Board of Directors. The Humane Society of Ventura County and its programs, including Humane Education, low spay/neuter clinics, Pet Food Pantry, investigations into animal abuse, and disaster response/preparedness are what Sheila is most proud to be a part of.
