Senior Rescue Horse Ready For His Forever Home!

We are celebrating more than the charms of senior dogs and cats during Adopt-a-Senior pet month, we are celebrating horses too! Dylan, a 26 year old quarter horse cross was rescued in the field by Humane Officers Vail and Winwood last February.

After an examination by Dr. Marta Granstedt DVM the horse, named Dylan, was impounded. He was listed as a 1 on the Henneke scale of 1-9 which is in immediate danger. We are happy to report under the supervision and care of our committed staff, Dylan has gained nearly 200 lbs and is doing very well!

Now that Dylan is back in good health and spirits he is available for adoption to the right home. Dylan is a very agreeable horse and while he has a history of being ridden in his younger days, he would now make a great companion. While staff works diligently to care for Dylan and place him in the perfect home we need your continued support to help cover the cost of caring for animals in need. The cost of caring for the horses is high, and includes their feed, water, veterinary and farrier services, and the staff necessary to give them the proper care. Won't you please consider making a small donation to help care for horses in need? Every penny counts!
