A very special thank you to Dan and Connie for choosing to adopt a senior shelter dog! Ten year old Dawn was rescued in the field by Humane Officers last fall in the hopes of finding her a loving new home that could meet her needs.

While always in good spirits, Dawn had a case of Lick Granuloma, a skin order commonly found in dogs. However, with the proper care Dawn began to improve rapidly and recovered nicely during her stay with us. 

Connie and Dan visited the Humane Society of Ventura County multiple times with their other dog and worked closely with Senior Humane Officer Vail to make sure that Dawn's transition into a new home was a success. Thank you to everyone who helped make this adoption possible and best of luck to Dawn and her new family!
